For those of you that did not already know, I am no longer a minor. I reached the ripe age of 21 yesterday.
On Wednesday, Robert Perez threw me a birthday party. He threw my party a year ago in San Benito and he has since moved to Brownsville. So he pulled some strings and made it happen. Wednesday was his only day off of work if you were wondering.
The sisters made me a cake...
Here's a picture of pre-cake face.
And post-cake face:
The culture here includes the "mordida" (Translation: Bite) You take a bite of the cake, no hands, and somebody pushes your face into it. The Missionary adaption is much worse. The entire cake is aimed at my face. I think it's fun.

On Friday we had a Stake activity called "Noche Mexicana" (Mexican Night) for Mexican Independence day.
There were tons of people there. It was quite a big deal. The best part was when we got a ride there and then found out we didn't have a ride home. Don't worry we found someone.
On Sunday (My Birthday) we didnt have anybody come to church! Yay! But we decided to stop by YSA (Young Single Adults). In this stake, YSA is here in Los Fresnos because it is in between Harlingen and Brownsville. We went and we found Sandy there! Sandy is somebody I was teaching a year ago when I was in San Benito. Her best friend came home from her mission and invited her to church. She has already come 3 times apparently. Since the beginning of the month there hasn't been missionaries assigned specifically to YSA so there is nobody specifically in charge of teaching her. She said she would love to have us teach her! Qué milagro! (What a miracle!)
Later that day we went to Sis Alvarez' house for dinner and her mom Sis Greely brought a cake for my birthday so we did another Mordida. Just a small one this time. And then Sis Greely prophesied. She claims to have a "gift." She prophesied Elder Cazier's wife a few weeks ago and then mine yesterday. She said she looked into my eyes and could see my future wife. She gave me a full description and I definitely took notes. We will see what happens.
Lastly, a completely separate topic. 1 week ago today we got super stuck in the mud. This photo is us getting muddy.
We tried to get ourselves out but then we had to call for help. We walked and knocked the first door we saw but they couldn't help. They took us to a member who brought his truck which got stuck right away, so his son brought his jeep which finally could handle the mud.
This picture was taken the following day. We left quite a trace.
Quite an exciting week.
