Cleaning and Packing

The mission life is still crazy. Not much has happened, just things about to happen. We are going to move apartments today. We will no longer drive 10-15 minutes down to Rio Bravo everyday but we are going to live in Laredo! Yay!

We have been cleaning and packing for our exercises this last week.

President Torres arrives in McAllen at 6:30 tonight. President Maluenda will not be my mission president tomorrow. Scary. 

So a change of apartment and a change of Mission President are pending for this week.

We Just Laugh About It

It has been a wonderful week everybody!

​In this first picture, you can see a very friendly home. They didn't answer so I don't know if they would have been nice or not.

Also near the "Go Away" house, there was a really cool doorbell with like 6 different jingles. (That is Elder Russell's arm)

In the picture below we had a little problem with the GPS. It was kind of difficult to go straight there. This actually happens at least once a week here in Laredo. We just laugh about it though.

​On Friday we got to take a little field trip. We found a nail in the side of our tire so we got to go take the car into the shop! We drove all the way up to the north part of Laredo. 

There isn't a whole lot more for this week. Just some things I don't want to mention until I can include pics. (Elder Chamberlain took some, but he isn't here at the library right now.)

Just On Fire

Fun this week includes pranking the Zone Leaders by putting the fridge in their room while they went to a meeting in McAllen. 

Then a member had some cool Indian money spray. It's actually just air freshener but I like to believe that it works.

We had quite a wonderful week. We had 5 investigators at church yesterday. I've never had more than 3 nor more than a single household at a time. However, we had 3 separate households come. We are quite hopeful that it will translate to a few baptisms in the next few weeks. It is looking really good. The Laredo South zone is having tons of success. Just on fire.

This transfer as a Zone we are focusing on building the church members and working to become a stake, so our theme is "Laredo South Ward." Our ZLs are the bishopric and callings are extended from there. I am now officially a relief society president. The other DLs are Elders Quorum and Young Mens Presidents. But I like my calling.

Mysterious Miracles

Shoutout to little sister Addie turning 18 on Sunday! Happy Birthday!

​Transfers are today! A lot of people left, so there are very few missionaries here in Laredo right now. But my comp and I stayed! But they took half of our district. Out of the 4 sisters, only Sis Jensen stayed. But I am excited to get some fresh meat! It will be great.

On Saturday we got to hang out in Laredo north for most of the day. The sisters in our district exchanged with the sisters in Laredo North zone on friday night so our two districts met up on Saturday to end the exchange. We also went to soccer at 6 am up in the north so we just stayed with the Elders up there for the morning. It was super fun. 

Since we didn't have to email (due to Memorial Day and closed libraries) we had plenty of time. Both zones hung out together yesterday for Pday. Before that I actually took our district (the sisters) to IHOP and then to the mall for a little while. They definitely went straight to Forever 21 and spent over 30 minutes there. All according to plan. As long as they had fun, I had fun.

We had a cool miracle this week after church. We had lunch with the sisters and then as we were leaving, Elder Russell had to use the bathroom. We decided he will just go at our appointment, but they ended up being busy and they didn't invite us in. Still needing a bathroom, I thought of a less active member down the street. We tried by and he invited us in and it was all good. While we were chatting with him, his sister (also less-active) came by. We then talked to both of them about returning to church and it turned out super awesome. As we left, we realized that God directed us there using Elder Russell's bladder. God certainly works in mysterious ways.
