Things Are Looking Good

This week we had a zone conference with Prezzy. He taught us like 100 scriptures about Lesson 1: The Restoration. He went super deep into the apostasy. Pretty cool. Then he talked to us about finding new investigators and he taught us a new approach to use when knocking doors. He told us to simply say: "Good afternoon. We are missionaries and we are coming around the neighborhood offering to bless homes. May we come in for a few minutes to say a prayer to bless your home and your family?" It is super simple but super effective. About 50% of people have allowed us to come in. The best part is that nobody says no when we ask if we can come back to teach them (out of those that do let us in). The first street we chose to try the technique is shown in the photo below:

Also this week we had a couple parties. Wednesday was a 6 yr old's birthday party. Ghostbusters theme. As seen with the pinata here:

Friday we had a Ward Halloween Party. Tons of people were there. Members and nonmembers. Our investigator Cecilia brought her kids to both parties and they are loving everything about the ward, so things are looking good there. ðŸ˜‹

Crazy investigator story time:
#1: On Thursday we planned to teach Pedro about the Word of Wisdom. When we arrived and sat down to teach, he told us that over the last few days he had already tossed all of his coffee and then later he threw out all his marijuana. He had nothing left to give up in the WoW, it was already gone!

#2: Recently a Seventy, Elder Kopischke, came to our mission and taught us to ask people to bring a question to church. We know that God can answer their questions. The sisters asked a less-active guy to bring a question and he showed up to church with a container of candy and asked Elder Galarraga: "Can I give out Trick-or-Treat candies?" And then he commenced to give candy corn to all the kids. That was beyond unexpected.

Until next week.
